What do you get when you mix Vanilla Ice, an 8 ball, and a fifth of Jack Daniels... enter Kid Rock. The newest white rap star who may actually have the ability to hold on for a while. I was a bit surprised by the CD when I bought it because I expected the music along the lines of Limp Bizkit and Korn. But have no illusions, this is rap music…admittedly with an edge. On top of that, this CD runs for what seems like days. Of all the CD's I've reviewed, this one is the longest. You get plenty of bang for your buck on this one.

I AM THE BULL GOD, was the first release on the album and my personal favorite. Hard hitting and not too "rappy" as I'll stamp the term. This song is the only one of its type on the CD. The rest of the songs fall into line with the second release BAWITDABA (which I also like). The one song on the CD that took me by surprise was ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY. The first time I heard it, I thought someone had put a country CD in my player. Its a slow ballad and shows some singing talent that may not be apparent from the rest of the album. I'd expect this song to be the next big hit you hear from this CD. I can't let the intro to WHERE U AT ROCK go without mention. There are a series of voice mail messages that are quite funny, especially the first one from the girl.

Along with the various sampling items you hear on the CD (Fat Boys, Too Short), Kid Rock invites several appearances by rappers like Eminem, Joe C, and several others. Not unlike other hard rap albums, this isn't your sit down and sippin' tea music. I'd advise packing this into the tape player for the gym or while driving to work on Monday.
