There were several songs that jumped out at me when I
listened to the CD. RIDE, track two, a reminiscent
groove that just has a good feel to it. Makes me
think of summer time with lyrics like "the sky so big
blue and wide a marble for an old man's eye….let it
ride." FRICA, track ten, which is a happy song
seeming to be about a person who is going through the
usual everyday drizzle but having a good day
nevertheless. Other good songs are AMAZING (which I
hear my love struck buddy singing all the time) and
LEMONADE SONG.
I really enjoy this CD. It makes good listening for
just about any occasion. If I was going to compare it
to other music, imagine Natalie Merchant singing lead
with a ska band or someone like No Doubt. Its been in
my CD player at work for about a week straight and
some of my co-workers are ready to buy it now. If you
get the chance, get your hands on it.
"Sorry buddy, she's f*cking the bass player," were
the words spoken to my anonymous buddy while hanging
out at a recent Crazy Jane show in Charleston, West
Virginia. The "she" they were speaking of is Crazy
Jane's front lady Karen Allen (who is also married to
the bass player , Chris Allen). I have to admit I was
a little down in the mouth about it myself. She's
sexy with her stage presence and she's got one of the
best voices I've heard live. Accompanying that great
voice is Chris Allen, Mark Davis and Jackson Par, all
of which come together to create a good show, with
good music, and good energy. I was a recent recipient
of their second CD and I'm here to tell you that it's
worth the buy.
