The Pack Date: April 7, 1997
Written by: Matt Kiene and Joe Reinkemeyer Story: Xander and a bunch of Sunnydale roughnecks get possessed by hyenas and run amok at school. The now-beastly boy is cruel to Willow and helps the hyena-possessed pack of kids eat the school’s mascot, Herbert the pig. Buffy locks Xander in the library, saving him from a trip to the principal’s office. No such good fortune for Principal Flutie (Ken Lerner): He suffers the same fate as Herbert. |

Angel Date: April 14, 1997
Written by: David Greenwalt Story: After the ever-mysterious but oh-so-sexy Angel kisses Buffy, his true nature is revealed. Now we know why he’s so well informed about bloodsuckers: He has had more than two centuries of experience. Still, Angel is appropriately named, since the gypsies he once ravaged cursed him with a soul. Julie Benz is introduced as Angel's ex-girlfriend Darla. |

I, Robot—You, Jane Date: April 28, 1997
Written by: Ashley Gable, Thomas A. Swyden Story: An ancient, enchanted tome purchased by Giles for the library gets scanned into the Sunnydale computer system, and an evil spirit named Moloch is unleashed in cyberspace. The ancient demon eventually inhabits a robot, but not before attempting to seduce Willow via the Internet. Ultimately, Buffy short-circuits Moloch and his plans. |

The Puppet Show Date: May 5, 1997
Written by: Rob Des Hotel and Dean Batali Story: Principal Flutie’s menacing replacement, Principal Snyder (Armin Shimerman), orders Giles, Buffy and friends to stage the high school’s talent show. And at Sunnydale, a contestant’s "loss of heart" isn’t a figure of speech. An organ-stealing demon is responsible, so a ghostbuster trapped in a ventriloquist’s dummy named Sid is recruited to make things right. |

Written by: Joss Whedon Story: Giles learns from a book of prophecy that Buffy will lose an imminent life-and-death battle with the Master. Bad news also comes to Xander: Buffy, in love with Angel slays Xander’s heart by declining his invitation to a dance. The stories merge when a rejected but loyal Xander revives the drowned Slayer. |
